Job Description:

AWARE Inc. is hiring for a Child and Family Specialist to work with youth with serious emotional disturbances who meet medical necessity as defined by Montana Administrative Rule. The Child Family Specialist (CFS) provides family training and direct care services and aspects of managing services in a natural environment to assist children and their families in gaining access to needed medical, social, educational, vocational, recreational, and other resources as requested or needed. 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to assess and to respond to the needs of youth and their families.  An understanding of community resources and knowledge of how to access services.  An understanding of youth with emotional challenges, issues the challenges present or family needs, and learning community resources.  Knowledge of a strength based model perspective and an understanding of the family systems approach. Ability to develop and maintain relationships with a diverse group of people; team building skills; good interpersonal skills; sense of humor; adaptable; good oral and written communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: A BS/BA Degree in a Human Services Field and minimum of one (1) year of direct work experience.  A Valid Montana Driver’s License, along with a clean motor vehicle record required. The successful applicant may be eligible to apply for a Tier II pay rate of $14.75/hour after six months of employment and in addition to supplying qualifying materials.
